Hightail vs. Alternatives in 2023

Hightail’s competitors include Box and Filesanywhere.

Box is a cloud based solution that can be used to store, share and administer digital documents. The product allows secure file sending & sharing on any digital device with permission based access to ensure user defined access. Additionally Box supports a secure collaboration platform with reporting to monitor data access, update and downloads in real-time. There is a Sync feature that maps across all devices & storage, as well as workflow automation to govern reviews & approvals. Box can also be integrated or embedded with other applications to ensure a seamless experience for file management and sharing.

Hightail also provides a similar solution with integration to Microsoft Outlook & Sharepoint as well as Salesforce. The product supports sending of large documents & video files and includes encryption for document management together with audit polices to ensure secured access.

Filesanywhere on the other hand includes additional features such as online faxing for both sending & receiving, as well as a data restore & recovery feature unlike Hightail. The product also supports “White Labelling” so that companies can brand the product as their own for both internal and customer requirements. Another feature is e-forms for surveys which can be sent electronically and then responses can be collated and the results reviewed.

While Hightail does support custom branding of the product, it does not support the other features mentioned. Additionally Hightail does not place a limit on file storage for its priced plans, but there is a limit for sending files which can be customized based on requirements.
