The software has basically been designed for the use of individuals who want to file online taxes without having to leave their homes. This is the reason why detailed step by step guidance is provided. However, it can also be used for small and medium business, although it is not flexible enough for the needs of big businesses.

The version designed for individual users is CompleteTax Basic while the one for the needs of businesses is called CompleteTax Premium MVP. The software has been used by thousands of individual as well as business users throughout the United States.
