FMX vs. Alternatives in 2023

Some of the key competitors for FMX are MaintenancePro and MaintenanceEdge.

MaintenancePro is a facilities management solution that is available as an on premise solution. The product supports workflow automation to manage service & maintenance work orders, as well as handles scheduling and repairs. There is also support for asset management to track equipment status, as well as to schedule preventive maintenance requirements. Additionally there is an employee management function to handle technician allocation and skills review.

FMX on the other hand provides a similar solution but as a cloud based service. It provides additional options such as fleet management which includes fleet maintenance needs, as well as fleet allocation for work order requirements. Additionally the product supports mobile device access for technicians who can use them to review schedules & routes, as well as update service order status.

Another option is provided by MaintenanceEdge which is also available as a cloud based solution. However while it has a number of the same features as FMX, it also provides capital asset forecasting tools to manage procurement based on service and lifecycle analysis. Additionally there is an option for asset budgeting to plan for maintenance costs, as well as identify equipment that needs to be retired based on technical and financial maintenance reviews.

While FMX does not support all of these features currently, the product does assign all equipment & assets under maintenance a unique QR code. These can then be scanned via mobiles to retrieve asset technical information and repair history to aid in current repairs and servicing needs.
