Mentor Graphics is now a product of Siemens after it was acquired in 2017 by Siemens Business. ModelSim software can be used together with Intel Quartus Prime, Xilinx Vivado, Xilinx ISE or independently. The platform automatically performs the simulation using scripts or through the GUI-graphical user interface.
It uses an integrated kernel for the simulation supported languages and uses the same method used in debugging the embedded C code as that used in VHDL or Verilog. ModelSim hardware simulation & debug environment mainly target smaller ASIC & FPGA design. It offers powerful waveform compare which helps to ease the analysis of bugs and differences.
