NexEMR vs. Alternatives in 2024

A.I.med 9 from Acrendo Medical Software provides support for both Electronic Health Records (EHR) as well as Patient Management (PM), and is targeted for small and medium medical practices. It can handle digital medical records, electronic claims & appointment scheduling, as well as voice dictation and storage. There is also provision for electronic clinical notes, e-prescriptions and automated invoicing & payment.

Nextech on the other hand while including Electronic Medical Records (EMR) as well as PM, also provides options for Revenue Management to validate insurance claims and improve reimbursement periods, as well as Patient Engagement through an online patient portal. With this portal a medical practice can schedule & follow up appointments, proactively flag medical checkups, increase education through medical awareness campaigns, and generally build stronger relationship with patients with regular followup.

Another important difference is that Nextech currently supports six medical specialties as part of its software offerings that cover general medical practices. However A.I.Med 9 offers support of twenty five different specialties including such things as Pain Management, Osteopathy, Geriatric and Nephrology. Additionally both products are available as on premise as well as cloud based solutions allowing medical practitioners to choose the solution best suited for their operations.

AllegianceMD on the other hand is one of the first fully certified EMR providers with a Government certification for Meaningful Use Stage 2. Additionally the product has an Artificial Intelligence Expert system that learns procedures and decision making processes at the medical practice, enabling it to intelligently suggest and improve actions and thus have an effect on overall productivity. Nextech currently does not support these features.
