The main competitors for PeopleMatter are SuccessFactors and Kronos Workforce Central.

SuccessFactors combines employee management with a talent management solution for the workforce. This includes recruitment & onboarding, learning management, performance & compensation as well as development & succession planning. Additionally the product uses the SAP JAM network for social collaboration and includes workforce planning & scheduling as well. There are also workforce analytics to monitor resource performance with the goal to optimize utilization in line with corporate goals.

PeopleMatter in comparison also provides a workforce management solution but its product is focused on recruitment, training and workforce scheduling. It is a cloud based solution which supports workflow automation and provides an open API for integration to other applications.
