Exact Macola provides discrete manufacturing & distribution software solutions for small and mid-size businesses. Its features include shop floor control, manufacturing cost accounting, resource tracking, as well as best practice manufacturing methodologies. There is also support for workflow automation, document management, and project management for complete production process automation. Exact Macola is provided as an on premise as well as cloud based solution, and is mobile device access ready as well.

Rapid Response Manufacturing (RRM) on the other hand provides a solution that integrates both ERP as well Manufacturing Execution systems. It includes support for accounting, resource & customer management, engineering, purchasing & inventory, as well as planning. Customers can also add additional modules such as CRM, Quality Management & Technical Estimation. However RRM is only available as an on premise solution and is not currently available for access via mobile devices.

Another solution is Plex Online which offers support for both discrete and batch process manufacturers that is scalable for any size of operation, which is unlike RRM. The software is primarily focused on the plant floor production system and covers the development, design, production, sale, and ultimately retirement of products through the entire manufacturing cycle. There is also support for Human Resources Management and Supply Chain Management. Plex Online however is only provided as a cloud based solution.

RRM in comparison offers customers’ inbuilt support for KanBan, a world renowned Lean Manufacturing management system, as well customer & supplier portals to manage the full production cycle from order to fulfillment. The product also has a payroll integration interface as well.
