ShippersEdge vs. Alternatives in 2023

Some of the key competitors for Shippers Edge are TMWSuite and Tecsys TMS.

TMWSuite provides an end to end transport management system. This includes fleet management & maintenance, routing & fuel optimization, as well as dispatching & scheduling. The product integrates with Microsoft Dynamics GP for enterprise applications, and can also connect with a number of third party accounting systems for financial management. Additionally there is a rating engine to determine the best shippers for a particular delivery, an online freight order booking system, as well as reporting tools to track shipper performance.

Shippers Edge on the other hand provides a collaboration platform to link all parties in the transport cycle to enable better information sharing and to improve scheduling & productivity. In addition Shippers Edge can handle trucking and freight management while supporting both inbound and outbound transport requirements.

Then there is Tecsys TMS which is web based and supports workflow automation to map the transport cycle and relevant approvals. It includes document management to handle all shipping manifests and can transmit information using electronic data interchange as well. Additionally there is a routing guide which can be used to recommend the best transport carriers for defined shipments. The application also supports consolidation which combines related shipments to maximize capacity while reducing costs.

Shippers Edge does not address these features but does support freight claims to handle lost and damaged shipments. However it is provided as a cloud based application and can be integrated with most other enterprise applications as well.
