Smith was founded by Smith.ai Inc, a software company founded by Justin Maxwell and Aaron Lee in 2015. Smith pricing plans include Virtual Receptionist and Live Chat. The Virtual Receptionist plan consists of a Starter plan, Basic plan, Pro plan, and Custom plan. The Basic plan costs $300/month and features 50 calls/live chats, 2 transfer destinations, free CRM, and $6 per additional conversation.

Dedicated Spanish line costs $0.75 per month, additional ping costs $0.25 each, while Accept payments, third party intake, appointment booking, and complex call routing cost $1 charge each.
