TabWare is an Asset & Maintenance Management solution. The software is designed to address planned & preventive maintenance, inventory & purchasing, as well as resource productivity.

AssetPoint, the developers of Tabware, was founded over 30 years ago to maximize a company’s asset utilization while controlling maintenance costs; so that a company’s operational efficiency can be improved. The company’s solutions are designed to be easy to implement & use while offering flexibility of ownership to meet a company’s requirements.

Who uses TabWare?

Tabware is a cross industry solution and can address sectors that include Oil & Gas, Mining & Metals, Manufacturing, Chemicals and Food & Beverage. It is a scalable product that can address any business size with its TabWare Enterprise version focused on the Enterprise market and TabWare Express for small and medium size businesses. It is offered as both an on premise as well as cloud based solution with a SaaS delivery model.

The software is designed for companies that need to manage all their assets from a single platform while providing real time information on asset status at all times. Additionally TabWare can schedule resources effectively, allocate spare parts for maintenance requirements efficiently, and reduce procurement costs by ordering the right parts when needed. This ensures improved productivity for companies.

The product also supports Reliability Centered Maintenance (RCM) & Total Productive Maintenance (TCM) which ensures extended asset lifecycles and reduced down time. In this way TabWare helps companies move from reactive & breakdown maintenance to planned & preventive maintenance, thereby reducing operational costs which is a key requirement for companies.

Customers include ExxonMobil, Little Lady Foods, Black & Decker, Logan Aluminum, Honeywell, Pittsburgh Glass Works and ReEnergy Holdings.

Yes, they offer cloud based hosting, which means IT resources are retrieved through web-based tools and applications and you don't need to buy servers and additional hardware equipment.

What are their main features and functionalities?

TabWare provides an Equipment Maintenance & Event Tracking module to track asset information, repair history and maintenance requirements, as well as ensures there is a proper audit trail to meet regulatory requirements for environmental, health and safety standards. This is linked to a Preventive Maintenance system to improve product reliability by supporting predictive maintenance requirements that reduce non productive time for assets.

The product also includes work order management from planning, resource scheduling, implementation and completion with support for approval cycles. Additionally there is an inventory model for spare parts management which supports multiple warehouses and includes purchasing & procurement management as well as invoicing. There is also access to supplier eCatalogs to ensure accurate product requisitions as well as a bid management feature to ensure competitive pricing for any material requirements. These features can be managed & tracked by remote staff through the use of mobile devices such as smart phones and tablets, or through the web as well.

Tabware also provides seamless integration to third party software such as ERP applications and financial packages to leverage on a company’s existing software infrastructure. The product also supports multiple languages and local terminologies to better match business requirements. Finally there is an Analytics module that provides detailed reporting and performance data that can be tracked using Dashboards as well as Key Performance Indicators.

Who are their main alternatives?

Spumaint supports the APQP, PPAP and FMEA standards for production quality and failure analysis, whereas ERPortal offers a maintenance solution for the government sector with inbuilt compliance for all major government regulations. TabWare does not support the standards mentioned.

NetFacilities CMMS is another solution that provides web portals for both customers and vendors to access the application to track work order status as well as material & product requests. Then there is EPac which provides a maintenance performance index to provide organizations a clear view of how well they are meeting their maintenance performance objectives. These features are not currently supported by TabWare.

Finally there is Que Center Maintenance Management with supports user driven customization of the product, as well as a modular architecture so customers can choose which modules they require and integrate the remaining ones at a later stage based on requirements. TabWare is not modular based and cannot currently be customized, but does offer two versions for the Enterprise & SME markets.
