Tylernet vs. Alternatives in 2024

TylerNet has Lightspeed and Shopify POS as some of its main competitors.

Lightspeed is a web-enabled retail management system and its main features cover quotations, sales & order management as well as inventory management. The product can be customized to meet business needs, and includes web store integration for online shopping along with Quickbooks integration for financial management. There is also a customer management module, support for loyalty programs, and options to provide POS agents details of complementary products to improve up-sell opportunities.

TylerNet in comparison is provided as a cloud based solution for retail, but includes additional features such as service management for after sales support, commission tracking for sales personnel, as well as employee payroll. There is also a sales analytics platform to monitor customer buying patterns & product sales, along with support for inventory shipping & receiving.

Then there is Shopify POS which although it is cloud based and supports mobile POS, it can also run its point of sale operations in offline mode as well. While it includes some of the core features of TylerNet, it does not support payroll processing currently. Additionally for financial management it can integrate with third party accounting software such as Quickbooks, and includes a marketing module to manage customer sales & promotions. The product can also handle product variations for bundling and mix & match requirements to meet variable customer demand patterns.

TylerNet does not support these features currently, but does include its own integrated accounting system unlike Shopify POS. However the product does not provide support for mobile device POS units currently.
