Founded in 2013, the CfA is based on mastering skills and competencies, not seat time and courses. It was a bold experiment in competency-based education, and the old-fashioned Learning Management Systems (LMS) in the educational technology market couldn’t support its outcomes-based model. Motivis Learning was born out of the innovation lab at Southern New Hampshire University, which last year launched the competency-based College for America. The team which built the competency based learning platform for CfA is now developing the next-generation education platform for K-12 and higher education.
