Vismatica Review - why 2.8 stars?

Vismatica is a business intelligence and analytics solution for small and medium businesses. It offers customized dashboards, data management, documentation, and integration capabilities. The software was developed and launched by IronRock Software Inc headquartered in Florida, United States.

The software is mainly deployed in small and medium businesses with backgrounds in a wide range of major industries. Some of the industries where it has found successful deployment include media and entertainment, technology and IT infrastructure, automation and manufacturing, financial services, education, and others.

Vismatica is ranked 19 out of 45 software in their category (Query and Report Writer systems).

The software offers a multi-user architecture using which clients can add as many users and system administrators as required. Facility of unlimited dashboards is available which can be customized as per specific requirements. Branding and business logos can be added to dashboards for professional outlook. For every dashboard and connection, the software offers multiple data connections and support for databases such as MySQL, SQL Server, and ODBC.

Vismatica offers real time preview for the design of dashboards. Data components offered by the software include lists, forms, tables, and data filters. Other important capabilities include document forwarding, document generation and customization, flexible forms, and data visualization.

IDashboard provides two deployment options which include an on premise version as a well as a hosted cloud based solution. Additionally it provides for a Display option which allows relevant dashboards to be shown on a variety of public monitors for organizational, business and informational purposes.

However Vismatica does not provide a cloud based solution and basically operates as a multi-user on premise solution, which can be configured based on the number of users or administrators required for the system. Yet Vismatica provides a number of important features such as unlimited dashboard development, customer branding, multiple data connections as well as a powerful dashboard designer and customization tool.

IDashboard on the other hand provides support for mobile device access as well as integration to Google Analytics, social networks such as Facebook & Twitter and even Salesforce.com as additional data sources. This is not currently supported by Vismatica.

Push BI Dashboard by Metric Insights is another competitor which provides dashboards based on the “Push” concept. In this scenario the tool actively analyzes data sources to provide detailed insights for key decision making, resulting in it being a more proactive rather than reactive dashboard tool. Additionally the product allows for organizational collaboration on data analysis and impact analysis of key business decisions. Vismatica currently does not work on this methodology.

Finally Vismatica does not offer any free trial of its product and is primarily focused on the small and medium business sector with pricing that is affordable for companies in this sector. On the other hand both IDashboard and Push BI Dashboard cater for enterprise customers as well as offer free trials of their products.
