WebMerge vs. Alternatives in 2024

Two of the main competitors for WebMerge are Google Docs and Zoho Docs.

Google Docs provides an online document creation service that supports word processing, spreadsheets, presentation slides and HTML forms. It supports full editing features and documents can be accessible online or via mobile device at any time. Additionally document collaboration is provided allowing real- time editing & commenting through an online chat feature. Google Docs is also compatible with Microsoft documents and can support offline editing as well if required.

WebMerge unlike Google Docs acts primarily as a document merge facility wherein there are ready made templates for document creation, and a data routing feature which allows you to upload data streams and then automatically populate a variety of pre-assigned documents. The product also supports document delivery based on rules assignments so only those who require them will get the documents delivered. Additionally the merge facility allows documents to be dynamically updated in real-time as and when the data source is updated.

However unlike WebMerge, Zoho Docs supports both document creation and storage for a wide variety of formats. It includes features for document grouping, flagging and supports collaborative sharing of information for editing as well. However it does not currently support a merge facility like WebMerge.

WebMerge does offer a free trial of its product and then multiple priced editions based on the number of document merges required. Additionally it supports integration to a variety of third party software to draw on multiple data sources to generate its merged documents.
