The main competitors for Nova are LeanTMS and Transwide TMS.

LeanTMS provides a cloud based transportation management system that can handle sourcing and monitoring of third party carriers for shipping & deliveries. Its features include procurement with RFQs to select the best shippers and then planning the allocation to manage both inbound & outbound requirements. This includes monitoring the fleet, reviewing rates and ensuring capacity is fully utilized. Additionally there is support for multi-carrier invoicing & settlement with analytics to rate carriers on performance so as to be considered for future work.

Nova on the other hand provides integrated Google Maps to track fleet locations in real-time as well as integrates with driver mobile units to send SMS messages from the central dispatch regarding route information and delivery status. The product also has an accounting system to handle all financial requirements with a document imaging system to digitize all paper based transactions.

Then there is Transwide TMS which provides a similar solution with the option to integrate to other customer applications. In addition the product has a data warehouse which is integrated with analytic tools for reporting, as well as dashboards & KPIs for performance analysis. There is also an auditing feature to validate the effectiveness of the transport service and which can advice of areas of improvement or possible fraud that may need addressing.

Nova does not currently support these features but is available as a web based application. In addition it has options to monitor fuel consumption as well as handle independent driver settlements as well.
