Solaris Imaging Pro vs. Alternatives in 2024

The main competitors for Solaris Imaging Pro are Edco and CVision.

Edco provides a solution for scanning of medical records into a patient management system. It includes an intelligent identification feature which analyzes the entire document and determines how it needs to be classified and categorized without the need for manual intervention. Documents can also be displayed as groups within medical charts for easy reference, and there are workflows to ensure the correct allocations and approvals are in place. Additionally the product supports either centralized scanning at one location or decentralized scanning at multiple locations.

Solaris Imaging Pro is a similar solution which supports both batch scanning and automatic indexing of all documents & images to the relevant patient’s medical chart. It also provides best practice support for administrative staff to efficiently scan documents quickly whether they are stored off-site or on-site.

Then there is CVision which uses Optical Character Recognition or OCR to scan the full content of each document in order to properly classify and index it, thereby saving staff a lot of administrative time. Its features include multilingual translation, content analysis and data validation. Additionally all files are generated in compressed format for storage purposes, with full content only being displayed when accessed.

While Solaris Imaging Pro does not fully support these features it does allows scanning of documents to either on-site or cloud based storage sites. Additionally the product can customize medical charts to display documents & images according to the clinic’s requirements, and it can support the use of high speed scanners for quicker throughput.
