ECI Empower vs. Alternatives in 2024

The major competitors for ECI Empower are Criterion HCM and Fairsail HCM.

Criterion HCM provides a cloud based solution to handle human resources. Its key features include recruitment & onboarding, compensation & performance reviews, learning management as well as payroll & benefits services. The product provides online portals for both employees & managers to review policy & employment information, and there are APIs for integration to other customer applications. There are also business intelligence tools for resource reporting as well as auditing features to ensure compliance with employment regulations.

ECI Empower in comparison is also cloud based but offers mobile device access as well. In addition to the main features provided by Criterion HCM, It also supports a rule based pay grading system. This allows employees transparency to know when they can obtain salary increases based on factors such as time served & achievements. However the product does not provide ready integration options and instead focuses on providing key functionality within its own product suite.

Another competitor is Fairsail HCM which unlike ECI Empower provides tools to customize the product to meet business requirements. While the product is cloud based, it also offers a collaboration platform to aid engagement between employees, managers and the HR teams. There are also options for resource planning, governance & risk management for regulatory compliance, as well as succession planning to better manage internal resources for advancement.

ECI Empower supports many of these features although it does not have a dedicated collaboration platform. However it does support resource budgeting and workflows which can be customized for specific process needs.
