QuickBooks Enhanced Payroll 2012 vs. Alternatives in 2024

Two important competitors of the software are TRAXPayroll and Payroll Mate. There are a lot of similarities between QuickBooks Enhanced and TRAXPayroll. For instance, both solutions offer the management of state as well as federal taxes. Both solutions also offer 401(k) and health benefits.

There are also a few differences. In the payroll module, TRAXPayroll does not offer the facility of payroll reports printing. On the other hand, in the taxation features, one feature of local taxes calculation is only available on TRAXPayroll but is not found on QuickBooks Enhanced. The customer support service of TRAXPayroll is relatively limited compared to QuickBooks Enhanced.

Payroll Mate also has most of the core features in common with QuickBooks Enhanced. Payroll module of both solutions is exactly the same, with same features of direct deposit, paychecks printing, and payroll reports printing. In the taxation module, QuickBooks offers additional features of electronic filing of tax forms and electronic payroll tax payment.

Conversely, two Payroll Mate features of local taxes calculation and backup and restore functions are not offered by QuickBooks. Customer support is similar on both solutions.
