FAMIS vs. Alternatives in 2024

The main competitors for Famis include Archibus and FMInteract.

Archibus provides a facility management solution that addresses a number of different industry sectors including education and the public sector. It is offered as both a cloud based and on premise solution and can be integrated with mobile devices as well. The product’s features include real estate & capital project management, space planning & asset management, as well as environmental risk control. There is also a network of third party application developers who can deliver solutions to add functionality to the product.

Famis in comparison provides a solution which only focuses on higher education and public sector companies. While it offers similar features as Archibus, it also includes project management to handle delivery of new development projects. Additionally it looks to optimize facility operations through the use of preventive maintenance, efficient space allocation of assets & resources, as well as audits to review the reliability of assets as well the well being of the facilities.

Another competitor is FMInteract which is a web based system that can manage multiple facilities and includes a collaboration platform to share information with clients and partners. There is also a strategic planning module to handle future expansion requirements, as well as a sustainability feature to manage environmental risk. However it does not address maintenance management currently.

However Famis provides options to track indirect costs such as energy consumption to determine the overall productivity of the facility. Also the product includes business intelligence tools with KPIs to monitor operations and ensure effective utilization of all facilities & assets.
