The Sage Group PLC, the developers of Sage Estimating, has offices all over North America, but its headquarters are located in Irvine, California. The Sage Group was formed in 1981 and has business all over the world.
Another important feature is the quotation and procurement add-on. This add-on allows clients to make quote sheets from takeoffs, send them to vendors through email, negotiate the price, and choose that quote for the estimate budget or use it to a subcontract or purchase order. This is a very useful tool that also allows clients to develop a library on their bid history. Other features include the CAD feature that uses CAD integration that has CAD item libraries to feed CAD quantities from the drawings. CAD is a main means of providing quantities and material components.
There is also scheduling integration which gives clients is the ability to generate a text file recap on the estimate, which is sorted by a schedule activity. This integration also allows clients to export the recap into a Primavera native file format or a MS Project Schedule native file format. Although the software is not a scheduling program, it utilizes integration to create data that can be used by other scheduling software solutions. The software can also help because of its flexibility. The software allows the client to be flexible with how they present their results. The assemblies will allow questions to be used differently by each estimator (questions such as total square footage, unit price, man hours) and get all of it under one common system setup.
