The rating of Sage Estimating is 4 stars out of 5. The rating is based on ITQlick expert review.

Typical Customers

Sage Estimating is best for customers in small to medium size businesses, from home businesses and small businesses to large enterprises with a large distribution. The software works best for construction firms because it helps on several aspects of the construction business, and similar businesses such as HVAC, utility contracting, and mechanical construction. The software is used by over 3 million clients, in just the U.S. and Canada alone. Among the clients of Sage includes Echo Pacific and Cannery Brewery Co.

Features

Sage Estimating can help your business in several ways. There are applications and features that can help a business improve and thrive. One of the most important features that the software has is its ease of integration. The software is one of the easiest software solutions to integrate with existing system and applications that are already in place.

Another important feature is the quotation and procurement add-on. This add-on allows clients to make quote sheets from takeoffs, send them to vendors through email, negotiate the price, and choose that quote for the estimate budget or use it to a subcontract or purchase order. This is a very useful tool that also allows clients to develop a library on their bid history. Other features include the CAD feature that uses CAD integration that has CAD item libraries to feed CAD quantities from the drawings. CAD is a main means of providing quantities and material components.

There is also scheduling integration which gives clients is the ability to generate a text file recap on the estimate, which is sorted by a schedule activity. This integration also allows clients to export the recap into a Primavera native file format or a MS Project Schedule native file format. Although the software is not a scheduling program, it utilizes integration to create data that can be used by other scheduling software solutions. The software can also help because of its flexibility. The software allows the client to be flexible with how they present their results. The assemblies will allow questions to be used differently by each estimator (questions such as total square footage, unit price, man hours) and get all of it under one common system setup.

Sage Estimating 5 Pros

  • Software integrates very well with several programs and systems
  • Home page features Social Networking Links
  • Sage Estimating has a dynamic link to the onscreen takeoff tools
  • Sage Estimating interface visuals are not are as engaging as competitors
  • The software estimating feature has customizable built in codes

Sage Estimating 2 Cons

  • Software has limited revenue service feature
  • Sage Estimating does not have mobile application support

Competitors & Alternatives

Among the competitors of Sage Estimating includes Salesboom Cloud CRM and Oracle Primavera. Aside from all these software solutions being helpful in the construction industry, these programs can also help with other aspects. Salesboom has more features for CRM and collaboration, while Oracle has more features that help with project management.

But one big advantage that Sage Estimating has over both these competitors is with its integration. Sage Estimating is one of the most used software products because it can be easily integrated with several other software programs and applications that are being used by the client.
