SimpleConsign is a retail management and POS software built consignment stores (retail and resellers), art galleries and antique malls. Its key features are unlimited consignors, inventory items, and customer support system. Traxia developed what it claimed to be the first web-based consignment system with its 12 employees. It was established in 2009.

SimpleConsign Typical Customers

SimpleConsign is specifically designed for used good stores, consignment shops, antique malls and bookstores. The consignment software can handle shops with multiple locations and doesn’t require any big upfront costs. Kids Planet Resale, Jody’s of Nashville and Beanstalk are some of the clients of SimpleConsign.

SimpleConsign Features

SimpleConsign offers consignor management, POS, inventory management, consignor access, credit card processing, customer management and layaway features. The consignor management part can help users to quickly navigate through consignors, viewing their account activity, balance, items and payout history.

Users can add one item at a time or in a batch and also donate the items they want. The POS part can help users to buy items from customers, conduct sales, handles returns, voids and split payment and online credit card processing. Users can look for items by ISBN, SKU and name.

Users can track their customer and consignor information using the customer management features and check their sales and purchase history. It’s easy to find out who is selling the most items using this software. Users can allow consignors to view their account balance and items online via the internet. You can also give them customized URL to help them get access to their accounts easily. You can also charge them monthly for access if you want. Other notable features are integrated credit card processing solution and options for putting items on layaway.

SimpleConsign Alternatives

Ricochet Consignment Software is also POS technology for consignment for small to larger businesses like SimpleConsign. However, its basic plan is more expensive than SimpleConsign ($109/month). Ricochet’s credit card integration should be an added service whereas, in SimpleConsign, it’s free. Ricochet does not have a customer reward system.

You need to pay for set up ($99-$299) while SimpleConsign offers it for free. Ricochet gives full website customization and domain name though for an additional $39. Both have excellent customer reviews online but SimpleConsign is more practical and efficient for business growth.

Salon Target has the same pricing and audience size as SimpleConsign. Unlike SimpleConsign which caters to different retailers and resellers, Salon Target is only for salon management. Salon Target has a better customer support feature through its online booking and appointment reminder system.

It has a more upgraded credit card feature called pre-authorization used for online booking than SimpleCosign’s credit card integration. Salon Target has better online vendor reputation but SimpleCosign has more e-commerce software to offer for boosting sales and operations growth.

SimpleConsign Pricing Information

SimpleConsign has three software packages: Basic, Standard, and Professional. Cost is per month and per location basis. All has Basic features ($99) unlimited consignors, items for inventory, managers or cashiers, customer support, training, all data backup, customer reward point system, and integrated credit card processing.

But the Standard ($149) has basic consignor access and simple Price Book included while the Professional ($199) gives clients additional applications for cloud printing, photo, and dealer remote entry. SimpleConsign pricing is below the average than competing retail and POS software.

SimpleConsign clients are usually from the retailing, reselling, antique, and art gallery industry. Clients’ business’ size ranges from small (up to 10 employees), medium (up to 200 employees) and large (up to 500 employees). One of their biggest clients The Village Store, The Recreation Centers of Sun City West, Inc. said it helped them grow their jewelry sales in 13 months. Another huge customer is Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University (to 5,000 employees) said it is easy to use especially for the elderly volunteers.
